Just came home from Anime Festival Asia 2013; my first time attending a relatively massive J-culture convention. Initially overwhelmed with the sights and sounds from all sorts of cosplayers and tonnes of otakus shopping and window shopping for anime merchandise. For those who have been watching my activities, I have 'switched' from drawing usual comic copyart to photorealistic portraits, and... it all began with SCANDAL's Rina Suzuki portrait. I must admit that while I am satisfied with some of these portraits, there are at least half of them, which have some flaws that bug me whenever I look at them. Nevertheless I hope to continue improving (and enjoy my recent discovery of using bristol paper!).
